Director dealings: Ashmore director's spouse disposes of shares

Ashmore Group revealed on Wednesday that finance director Tom Shippey's partner, Fay, had disposed of 77,215 ordinary shares in the FTSE 250-listed investment manager.

Fay Shippey, the wife of Tom, who was appointed to Ashmore's board back in November 2013, sold the shares two days before at an average price of 478.58p each, for a total value of £369,535.55.

Earlier in October, Ashmore said its assets under management had remained "broadly flat" in the first quarter of its financial year, reflecting net inflows of $2.4bn (£1.91bn), offset by the negative investment performance of $2.3bn.

Ashmore said its external debt assets rose 2.6% in the three month period ended 30 September to an estimated $19.6bn, while local currency assets were stable at $19.7bn and corporate debt assets were down 3.2% at $15bn.

As of 1635 BST, Ashmore shares were down 1.97% at 488.40p.
