Report of 'substantial progress' in Russia-Ukraine talks is 'wrong', Kremlin says

A Financial Times report of "substantial progress" having been made in talks between Kyiv and Moscow were wide of the mark, the Kremlin's spokesman said.

According to Dmitry Peskov, that report was "wrong", even if negotiations were set to continue on Thursday.

Peskov blamed Ukraine of dragging its feet, claiming that Kyiv was "in no rush".

For his part, and in an interview with Bloomberg TV, Pentagon spokesman, John Kirby, reportedly said: "For all the talk about wanting to find a diplomatic path forward, we haven’t seen them act on that.

"What you’re seeing by the Russians on the ground is a full-on commitment to military operations."

The day before, Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, had already himself told NBC News that talks with Moscow continued but were "fairly difficult".
