NatWest names Solange Chamberlain as head of retail bank

NatWest has named Solange Chamberlain as the head of its retail banking operation, replacing David Lindberg who announced his resignation six months ago.
Chamberlain, currently the group director of strategic development, will be appointed as chief executive of the Retail Bank on 1 July, reporting directly into group CEO Paul Thwaite.
“I’m delighted to welcome Solange as the new CEO of Retail at such a pivotal time for NatWest," Thwaite said in a statement.
"She has a deep understanding of the competitive and fast-moving environment we’re operating in and will help us accelerate our strategy. Her knowledge of our customers, sharp strategic thinking, and track record of transformation delivery will help us to grow our retail business and succeed with customers.”
Chamberlain joined NatWest in 2019, having previously been chief operating officer of the bank's Commercial and Institutional business.
Before joining NatWest, she worked in senior roles at Lloyds Banking Group, and previously provided advisory services to financial institutions like Lazard, Citigroup and Perella Weinberg.
The announcement comes just three days after NatWest returned to private ownership, with the HM Treasury selling its remaining stake in the bank on Friday.
